Hay Horsey Friends! Welcome to this web site. While it is still under construction, I just want to let you know a little bit about me. I'm Hurley Ward, a professional horsewoman and have lived my dream on "Just the Spriit", a 16.3 h.h. bay thoroughbred mare and I named my farm after her- her first colt "Kindred Spirit" - a large junior hunter, won high honors nationally with the Jack Towell family - yea ha! And one day he will come back to me.
Our Olympic jumper coach - George Morris - when I was riding "Kindred Spirit" in one of his clinics - says that my horses are "spoiled and lady broke, but that I do a lovely job on their education"! I teach my students to train their horses to realize their own dreams.
I have my "r" in USEF Hunters and Hunter Seat Equitation and have had it for many years - so I offer my services as a judge and clinician to educate my style of riding founded in the deep classical principals of correct forward seat riding.
I teach hunt seat equitation - beginners through advanced. We fox hunt with Bedford County Hunt, compete at hunter pace competitions, and local shows where my horses and students win by using the techniques of total horsemanship I stress at all times. The horse's well being is always first.
